We speak so many words to express our thoughts. Why not simplify and express yourself with a letter.
I love the size and beauty of a single letter. You can appreciate every curve and line it takes to form them. When I try to think this way, I begin to wonder which letter is most beautiful to me. Maybe it's A or Q or Z. It's interesting and fun to apply them layred or architecturaly into a space.

I can only imagine the thoughts flowing through the ink as she repeats line by line. I rember taking a pen and drawing on my skin when I was child. Really loved to pretend it was a tatoo, but I think I loved the way the way the ink felt on my skin. It was kind of peaceful. It was like a little diary I carried with me interpreting my thoughts into symbols of pure and simple daydreams.

Whiting and Davis handbags at Le Frock - Seattle.

I've fallen in love with Whitting and David. No their not boys, well they are but they are boys who designed these amazing metal silky handbags way back when. There they were in the back winking at me. Of course I had no clue who they were. But as the adorable gals at Le Frock layed them in front of my eager eyes, I knew I was in love. The liquid movement of these bags feel like metalic silk. And the clasps? Love them!

So I went back home and did some digging around about these boys. This is what I found- more love.

Hadn't thougth about Patagonia for a long while until a friend mentioned she was making it her destination of the year. The adventure of a new landscape never experienced sounds so excitingly beautiful. Now that I think back, it's been two years since my trip to India (should post some pics). How bold do you want to go into the year?

Me? I want to go into with arms wide open towards my most colorful day dreams. This past year I did just that. We (my lumberjack mand and my big bear of a dog) drove on this amazing road trip to the west coast (Seattle) to seek new adventures in a city bookended by grandious mountains. So with so many new adventures to seek and places to explore, I cannot wait for this new year.

My best advice for the year:

No matter what hurdles lay before you, keep your head up high and keep looking forward no matter how many times you tumble.

Tonight I wish to flash some sparkle into the new year with a glimmer of hope. I wish you a beautiful night!

I wish I could have sent some sweet wishes this Christmas, but with the move across the country just recently time has flown. I do love that here in Seattle you can feel and hear the holidays. I also loved walking our big dog down the streets at night and looking up the beautifully decorated trees in the window. Next yeart we will have folks looking up at our decorated windows and maybe our big dog will look out at them with little antlers smilling back with good cheer.

Hello beautiful,

I was so inspired by the beautiful stark white barks of Aspen and their golden leaves as we drove through the mountains of Colorado in October on our way to Seattle. It's really quite an amazing site to be surrounded by such simplicity in form and color. With subtle breezes the leaves began to dance, so I created these earrings to mimic them. They shimmer and move as you strut your stuff.

Chiming Bangles

A sweet little reminder to have fun and smile when you swing your arms. I wore bangles all week because the sound they make when you walk is so melodic. I really love the varying sizes of bangles because they result in random patterns along the arm. Some slide higher up the arm as the others chime and sing as you swing your arms.

There's going to be another photo shoot!

I am so excited that another Nested Yellow photo shoot is going to happen this weekend. Weather permitting of course (we've had this amazing relaxing rain all week). I have been m.i.a. for a few months working on the business side of Nested Yellow and developing new collections for the year. Um...and I have a new mens collection that I will be presenting to you soon my beauties. So this photo shoot will express the natural beauty we all poses with freshness and sophistication that is down to earth.

What I love about Free People's photo shoots is the everyday, every girl has been lost in thoughts and day dreams look. My sweet friend will be Nested Yellow's nature girl. Hope you are enjoying a beautiful Saturday. Last night we had a great time at our studio party with family and friends. Our Mr. PJ was a hit with the ladies. One look at his handsome puppy face and they were hooked. I also accessorized with my freshly created Seed Pod ring made of 14kGF metal. I think there will be multiple studies of this design. This was such an amazingly sweet breakfast with my friend Marina, whom you've met before. We met at my new favorite comfort breakfast spot super early in the morning. A cappuccino was a must. So anyways we met up for a photo shoot of my new collection of botanical pieces. Between the two of we enjoyed a good stack of oatmeal pancakes and two orders of eggs benedict. A Garden Oasis

Good Morning Garden!

I was so excited to wake up this morning. I had plans to visit a local community garden in the super cool, bohemian Seminole Heights neighborhood. When I slowly traveled down the beautiful street shaded by old oak trees and walked through a wooden fence, I could not believe my eyes were gazing at a fresh and fragrant garden oasis. The rich soils were drenched in rain water bountiful with lacy herbs and robust leafy greens. And I could smell fresh cilantro - my favorite!

I was really there to learn how plant seeds, but I ended up staying a bit longer to play in the soil. It was a big treat when I was given a pair of snippers and generously offered to bring home a sweet bag of leafy greens for a fresh lunchtime salad. Yum!

Now my Saturday mornings will begin a sweet visit to the garden before heading to the studio to create.

Yay! It's Friday! Happy Friday to you!

Even with a cold I feel excited. I hope by tomorrow I can gather some energy to head back to the studio for just bit to complete these pieces I started last weekend. I'm not sure yet what they will become just yet. Maybe a necklace or bracelet.

I can't decide if the turquoise and silver piece which is nice and chunky should be set high or low. It could be a really cool chunky bracelet with layers of chains. The heated copper hibiscus flower I feel is going to become a nice statement bracelet with its edges curled with feminine flair.

Today's Feathered Thought

Yesterday I ventured into a local shop searching for help. I really would love to create a story for my collections and photograph them with beautiful finds. But I really must stay focus on the big idea and not drift towards interesting things outside of it like I have so far. So the advice I received is to go lighter (see my studio photo is too dark and lacks scale) , more reflective and scale with large and small collections. Ok ... so now I must find a few pieces to create this story in my head. I'm going dreamy botanicals this season...

I will be visiting your lovely blogs for tips and inspiration because this sort of thing doesn't happen with me naturally. Yikes! Here we go...

Today's Indulgence

These are the only chocolate cookies left from Thursday's baking night. Too delicious to stop at one. So my love says! At least I baked them with healthier ingredients.

Today I'm heading over to Spa Jardin for a special treat and hopefully find a perfect shop for Nested Yellow jewelry. Then I will head to the studio with Mr. PJ to complete a sweet custom order and create some new bracelets I have been craving.

Recurring Daydreams...

A storefront shop with coffee or tea served with freshly made simple sweets from my childhood. Lot's of chocolate of course!

Natural, light and fresh displays for my jewelry surrounded by smells of brews and laughter.

A sweet garden between my shop and studio with a large window for daydreaming.

The woods just outside the city where I create so that I can drift on long walks and a breath of fresh air.

This is my recurring daydream of owning a sweet little shop. One day...

This weekend I had a thought to add to a little ring with a small branch growing from it that had been sleeping on my table for some time. I finally found it...

Love is growing from the knots of the tall pine sweet with rich sap. Love grows and ages with time. Let's remember to spice it up!

Off to the Farmer's Market today

It's a beautiful day! Outside the skies are blue and the air is fresh. And I'm going to the Farmer's Market in the city to have fresh soup, chocolates and find fresh veggies for this weekend's meals. Of course I may happen to find beautifully scented soaps and handmade goodies to bring back with me.

Aren't these shadow boxes beautiful. They're from a special Etsy shop in Greece. Love this one and this one below.

On my table where I daydream...What's yours?

On my table where I daydream are little bits of feathers and twigs collected on walks with Mr. PJ, a butterfly incased in clear resin from my aunt in California and sweet memories of my child hood in Honduras. Scattered across the white surface are pieces waiting to receive that final touch I just haven't figured out, so they rest while I take a glance at them each day until that moment happens.

It's quite nice to have a place outside of the studio where I fabricate my daydreams and come home to fond memories that inspire more daydreams.

Wooded Leaves are back!

These leaves are fresh off the block! I sketched them on to the metal and had fun sawing them out of the sheet of metal. Then added the silver dew drops and began to form the feminine ruffled edges. I'm preparing for the Carol Kipling shop since they requested for some of my pieces to be added to their beautiful shop. So excited!

Fresh Off the Block...

So we have an OPEN Studio tonight!

And yesterday I thought it would be really cool to engage our visitors with FRESHLY made simple Urban Line rings that literally come off the hot block (cooled down of course:) onto their finger. It's like having fresh homemade bread! And of course I will warp them up in my sweet little packaging so that they can home and open it up like it was gift again.

Butch Anthony built and designed this incredible salvaged pine log cabin for his family and friends.

This bedroom really caught my breath. Its minimal expression with white on white and two toned color pallet are warm and relaxing. The wood slats are a beautiful detail that really makes this room. Would love to read a book next to this fire on a cold winter morning!

The color and mood of this scene captured my breath. At first glance it looks romantic with peacock green feathers swaying back and forth in the breeze. Then it becomes real the second time around when you notice that this hidden jewel captivated someone special to follow its glow down a dark alley. It's both grungy and romantic. I'm so inspired by this color and the rough brick texture combination.

New Dali Days!

Above is one of my favorite elements of the New Dali Museum designed by HOK. This monumental stair case leads the visitor to the main and temporary galleries where Salvador Dali's most beautiful large paintings are draped with a combination of artificial light and natural light from light cannons above. The colors come to life. After one year of my involvement in the construction administration process, I was so honored and excited to experience the museum filled with excited visitors at the New Dali Museum in St. Petersburg during a special opening this past Sunday.

The Grand Opening : 1.11.11. It's truly a must see!

Golden Sweet Romance

I've fallen in love with this new sweet romance design of gold filled rose and leaves. This design is delicate and simple so that it rest lightly below those beautiful lines of our feminine collar bone. The design originated from a previous wedding order that was made of coper and silver ( I'll post the set another day). This one was designed as a Christmas gift to his Italian sweet romance.

Last Night's Little Indulgence

To feel connected to friends of ours who were camping by the fire enjoying S'mores, I created the city's version of S'mores for friends, who joined us for a homemade dinner, before walking to the river for the presentation of beautiful fireworks. So we indulged and enjoyed every bite.

A little recipe from Martha Stewart:

Ingredients

Makes 24

Vegetable oil, for brushing
4 envelopes unflavored gelatin (3 tablespoons plus 1 1/2 teaspoons)
3 cups granulated sugar
1 1/4 cups light corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar

Directions

Brush a 9-by-13-inch glass baking dish with oil. Line with parchment, allowing a 2-inch overhang on the long sides. Brush parchment with oil; set aside.
Put granulated sugar, corn syrup, salt, and 3/4 cup water into a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Cook, without stirring, until mixture registers 238 degrees.on a candy thermometer, about 9 minutes.
Meanwhile, put 3/4 cup cold water into the bowl of an electric mixer; sprinkle with gelatin. Let soften 5 minutes.
Attach bowl with gelatin to mixer fitted with the whisk attachment. With mixer on low speed, beat hot syrup into gelatin mixture. Gradually raise speed to high; beat until mixture is very stiff, about 12 minutes. Beat in vanilla. Pour into prepared dish, and smooth with an offset spatula. Set aside, uncovered, until firm, about 3 hours.
Sift 1 cup confectioners' sugar onto a work surface. Unmold marshmallow onto confectioners' sugar; remove parchment. Lightly brush a sharp knife with oil, then cut marshmallow into 2-inch squares. Sift remaining 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar into a small bowl, and roll each marshmallow in the sugar to coat. Marshmallows can be stored in an airtight container up to 3 days.

Full Perspective

Our new studio layout was completed the night before our opening on Friday. Designed around the needs of all four creative gals, the space is balanced and inviting. It now is a space where we share our thoughts, create and relax. I will be creating new jewelry collections for the new year. Marina will continue to dance as she paints beautiful and vibrant images from within. Amy and Ellen can now use the entire floor space for practicing yoga. Amy also paints beautiful images. And Ellen will also be writing and creating jewelry.

It's going to be a beautiful new year in the studio!

Simply Sweet

One of Florida's simple sweets straight from my friend's backyard scattered with amazing tangelos. It's the sweet merging of a juicy orange with the ease of tangerine peeling. Just pull at the green stem and the rind begins to peel away from the sweet treasure within like a gift.

I can't get enough of these. And they are here just in time for the winter when you need to fill up on vitamin c.

I just can't keep my eyes away from these natural beauties by Gray Works Interpretive Furniture design located in the Catskill Mountain town of Woodstock, NY. Although create beautiful wooden furniture, I can't help but fall in love with the relaxed and natural sweet treats they display on their wooden objects.

Designers Andrew Gray and Elizabeth Bryant work closely together to make beautifully designed. They craft everything exclusively from locally, sustainably harvested or salvaged hardwoods, hand rubbed with natural, organic, food-safe products like olive oil. They are also strong supporters of businesses that strive to make thoughtful, environmentally sustainable choices.

Andrew partners with micro-mills of the Hudson Valley and Catskills to harvest and collect the material they use, at times milling the wood himself. Every item in their shop has a story behind it, usually of a tree felled because it was dying, or one that was brought down in a storm.

Gift for Giving

I love people who {LOVE} life and send happy thoughts on a daily basis. I am a daydreamer and live optimistically. So when I came across someone who shared a memory that to this day tickles them, I thought of the perfect little gift for them. She loves to bake and shares her love with so many, so I thought that this would be the perfect gift for giving. A cute squirrel cookie cutter from Wee Waldorf for her fond memory that can be duplicated as often as she likes. I really enjoyed wrapping this one especially since the little squirrel arrived with a beautiful acorn.

I'm inspired by these natural beauties! The simple and beautiful textures of crinkled crape paper would look amazing wrapped around a special gift. The textured folded paper feels like a distant and remote landscape that I could sit and daydream. My birthday was absolutely special! I ate breakfast with my parents via Skype. Listened to my dear friend sing happy birthday over the phone. Special sweet notes from you! And family and friends joined me for food and laughter with sweet thoughts all around at last night's party. Awaking after a late night of fun, I reflected on the meaning of love and friendship. It's important for me this year to embrace the special friendships and show my gratitude. Yeah! It's my birthday! Celebrating is so good for the soul! Gathering with close friends and family for laughter and great memories can ground you to the earth so that you may grow healthy as you age.

So let's celebrate! My sister is making a cake that I can't wait to eat! I'm really looking forward to decorating for my friends and family who are coming over tonight. I wish to make them treats from my heart, so maybe some homemade bread, homemade crackers for yummy cheese, my favorite chocolate chip cookies and chocolate truffles to go home.

I'm daydreaming about a beautiful light fixture above our dining table that I can create. While searching for inspiration I stumbled upon these beautiful lights made from paper, hardware store objects, paper clips and wood made by very creative folks. I'm daydreaming about a light and fluttery structure reflecting a little romance and sweetness. I will keep Alan in mind so that it's not to feminine.
